Pedal Powered Generators

Two-day course on making your own emissions-free electricity, independent of fossil fuels and expensive solar arrays and wind turbines

Do you want to make your own emissions-free electricity, independent of fossil fuels and potentially expensive solar arrays and wind turbines? Discover how to use your own bike as part of a small power station, capable of powering computers, stereos, TVs and other small household appliances. This method makes a great use of your bike when you’re not riding it around town. During the weekend, you will find out all you need to know to assemble a bike-powered generator.

You will learn how to use your bike to charge batteries (DC), to run appliances in real time (AC) and how to combine AC and DC systems. All this will be using one bicycle.

You will learn how to link bikes together to generate more power for occasions such as music performances, and about combining pedal power and solar power.
