Becoming a befriender

Thank you for your enquiry about becoming a befriender to a person affected by autism.

You’ll find enclosed an application form that you need to complete and return to us. Below, we’ve listed a link which gives a really good idea of what

Befriending is all about.

In order to become a befriender, you’ll need to attend our training course. Training comprises four sessions held over two days. You must attend both days

in order to complete the course and to become a Befriender. We currently don't have any training scheduled in Croydon but will be in contact as soon as we

do.

There is a high demand for volunteers wishing to become befrienders. If you wish to apply, please return your completed:

  • application form
  • equal opportunities form and
  • two passport-sized photos
