Man with a Movie Camera
Made in 1929, Dziga Vertov’s cinematic experiment is a highly playful, incredibly fast-paced and hypnotic succession of scenes portraying city life in 1920s Russia. Seen here in a new restoration, the film is a rare gem that still feels fresh and innovative – more than 80 years after its creation.
Further reproducing the original screening experience, the film will have live accompaniment by the pianist Costas Fotopoulos.
The film will be introduced by film writer and curator, Lucy Reynolds
p.s. i watched it at DocLab in Vietnam not long ago. a very old one but very informative and fun. it should be 'the man whose lover is a camera' :)x
